Andrew Wainwright, Composer in Residence

We are thrilled to announce that Andrew Wainwright has agreed to become a composer in residence for FLSB!

Andrew will be joining Composer in Residence, Lovatt-Cooper to form an incredible tandem of composers for the band going forward.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with Five Lakes Silver Band in this way. I have watched from afar the development of the band over the past few years and the remarkable progress made under their Musical Director Christopher Ward, to the point where they are rightly talked about as one of the most exciting and progressive brass bands in the world today. We have already enjoyed a positive relationship in collaborating on several projects and I look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with the band, which I believe will be mutually beneficial."
- Andrew Wainwright

"Andrew is an enormously talented composer who has certainly developed his own voice as a writer. We've had a great relationship over the years and felt like this was the next step. The band has already commissioned a few pieces, including 'Metamorphosis on Finlandia', which is featured on our latest recording. 'Enduring Faith' is another commission that the band premiered in December and will be recording on our new album this spring. With more exciting ideas in the pipeline, the future is bright, and we are looking forward to a tremendous partnership together."
- Christopher Ward, Music Director
